A quick introduction
Garlic is always the first crop of the season to plant as it is planted in fall and harvested only the next summer. The hardneck garlic makes garlic scapes (immature flower stems) which we harvest just before we harvest the whole plants. See our separate entry about the scapes in the vegetable archive for recipe inspiration.
Storage
Once cured, garlic stores for a very long time outside of the fridge (in a dry & dark space).
Season
July until the storage finishes, usually we have enough until the end of our CSA season
