Community Supported Agriculture

That’s exactly what it is! As a member, you support the farmers (us) as well as the community (each other) and help create a better food system. We as farmers commit to doing everything in our power to ensure a bountiful harvest and delivering fresh and healthy vegetables. Apart from enjoying fresh vegetables, you also wish to support us ideologically and financially so that we can succeed as a micro-business. By buying your share for the whole season in advance you provide us with capital right when we need it: at the beginning of the year when we buy seeds, plants and equipment. If you want to help us demonstrate the feasibility of this kind of food production, join us!

That’s the deal

Weekly delivery or Farm pick-up

Every week you’ll receive fresh vegetables from what’s available on the land, with the boxes following the seasons. This means that in spring harvests will be a little less plentiful than in summer when we will be scrambling to gather in the abundance of crops. Generally, you can always find around 5-8 different types of vegetables, and some herbs and edible flowers in the vegetable box. As the variety of vegetables that grow in winter is quite limited, we decided to distribute our boxes for 30 weeks from May until November/December.

We’re striving to find a balance to keep our vegetables affordable while at the same time paying the farmers a fair wage. Quite a challenge!

We think that a sustainable food system that takes care of people and planet is not possible in a market system where competition drives farmers to exploit nature and their farm workers in order to keep their prices low. Stepping away from this system we ask you to think of your payment as paying us for the service of providing food and taking care of our land in a responsible way.

Inspired by the pricing model of many other CSA’s we have decided to ask you to base the price you want to pay for the vegetable box on what you want the farmers to earn per hour. We ask you to think about which salary you find fair for the farmer and balance that with what you are able to pay for climate-friendly local food production.

Please keep in mind that we are self-employed and that our salary includes pension, social security, holiday money, insurances and taxes!

Winter shares

IF THE SEASON ALLOWS

If there is enough left on the field at the end of the season, we also offer winter shares. For these, we have a fixed price and a very limited number of places. Please contact us if you are interested.
