A quick introduction

Rainbow chard has large smooth green leaves and thick stems of different colours (green, white, yellow, red and pink). Chard is a great replacement for spinach but it's not very nice to eat raw. Only very young baby chard is tender enough to enjoy in raw salads.

Storage

Wash in cold water and store in the fridge, preferably in a closed container.

Suggestions for preparation

Rainbow chard can be used similarly to spinach. Try blanched, sauteèd, braised or in a stew. The stems might take longer to cook than the leaves, so consider the difference in cooking time for your preparations by separating them and adding them at different points.

Season
